January 16, 2006–St. Charles, IL- Flix manufacturers a next generation interdental stick, used to clean in between the teeth. They had previously been known as Floss & Brush and been sold strictly through clinical channels. Upon changing their name to Flix, they turned to Modus Marketing Group to help target a consumer audience in the fast-growing portable oral care category.
Modus began by developing a new identity, with a logo that utilized the shape of their interdental stick as an icon. A contemporary typeface was also employed. With a new corporate identity in hand, Modus turned to packaging design. A new structure was developed to support their position as a complete portable oral care product. The packaging made use of a bold, contemporary graphic design that even included a scratch and sniff sticker for each flavor. In all, 4 packs, each with their own color and sticker were developed.
With packaging in production, Modus then turned to supporting marketing materials, including a new website, ad campaign and collateral system. The website was developed with the new graphic identity that had been established. It’s goal was to bring the brand to life and give the viewer the entire Flix experience. Each flavor was called out on a separate page that used copy, imagery and even sounds to convey the emotion of each.
A new highly targeted ad campaign was developed with the goal of giving readers the full Flix experience. Their supporting collateral system included a folder and sell sheet. This system was designed to replicate the shape and texture of the packaging design to target retailers interested in placing Flix on their store shelves.
