Modus Marketing Group Develops Website for the World-Famous Billy Goat Tavern

January 12, 2005 – Chicago, Illinois - Modus Marketing Group announces the launch of a new website for the world-famous Billy Goat Tavern in Chicago, IL. The website is located at www.billygoattavern.com . It is the first website in the tavern’s history.

The primary purpose of the website is to offer Billy Goat merchandise for sale online, such as hats and t-shirts. The site also provides visitors with the Billy Goat's menu, locations, and the history that has made the Billy Goat world-famous.

The Billy Goat has been a popular Chicago newspaper writer’s hangout for years. It gained legendary status when the original owner, William Sianis, was prevented by the Chicago Cubs from entering a 1945 World Series game at Wrigley Field - with his goat. Sianis then placed his legendary curse on the Cubs, that they would never again win a championship. His curse is still in effect today!

The legend of the Billy Goat tavern was furthered in the 1970's when it was portrayed on Saturday Night Live. The skit, featuring John Belushi, made famous the phrase: "cheezeborger, cheezeborger, no fries - chips."

"The staff at Modus Marketing Group is honored to have been selected to help a local legend like the Billy Goat Tavern in its first efforts on the internet", says Brian Moline, President, Modus Marketing Group. "Maybe their website will become legendary itself!"
